ABOUT ME
MEDIA PERSONALITY, DIGITAL CONTENT PRODUCER, & MULTIMEDIA JOURNALIST
Hello, I'm Jennifer – a lifelong storyteller with a knack for thinking outside the box. My storytelling journey began in the sixth grade when I decided to make a short film instead of giving a traditional book report. I've always been averse to standard presentations and consider myself a hands-on learner.
During that time, I rounded up my classmates and turned my grandparent's house into a movie set, where we reenacted key scenes from the book. The premiere was a hit, and that's when I realized my passion for storytelling and public speaking.
My late Grandfather, COL (ret) Bobby Moore, played a significant role in shaping my values. He taught me about loyalty, duty, respect, and more. I spent a lot of time with him and learned the importance of staying true to myself and my community. Growing up, I noticed a lack of representation for minorities in many areas, leading to untold stories. A workshop at Ted Turner Studios during high school inspired me to change that. I decided to create opportunities for underrepresented voices.
My career has taken me through various media roles. I created 'THE HUB,' my own multimedia network, and hosted shows like '106 & Aggie.' I've worked behind the scenes as a broadcast intern at WTVR-TV CBS 6 News, reported for DCTV Channel 23, and covered entertainment and lifestyle news for IOB-TV News. I've also contributed articles to 'The A&T Register,' hosted at WANM 90.5 Tallahassee, produced content at FAMU TV-20, managed media at Bumble Bizz, and even started my own fashion lines, 'Glow-Getter' and 'Black Creatives Matter.'
I've had the privilege of interviewing prominent figures like Kevin Wilson, Toosii, Morray, Young Bleu, Cynthia Bailey-Hill, Don Lemon, Elizabeth Warren, Roland Martin, and Angela Rye. These experiences have honed my leadership and communication skills.
My passion for storytelling extends to hosting. As the Social Producer and Editor for Blavity U, I curated content, conducted live interviews, and dove into data analytics to engage our Gen Z audience. I also created the 'HBCU Week' social campaign and 'The Future Is U' social series.
At Culture Fusion Agency, I refined my hosting skills while organizing events, interviewing celebrities, and covering album releases. I've also managed social media and contributed to PR efforts during music artist tours.
Beyond hosting, I deeply love writing and staying updated with emerging technologies. I'm pursuing a Master's in Journalism Innovation with a multimedia focus at Syracuse University. My coursework includes web and mobile story production, data-driven journalism, emerging media platforms, and content management. As I approach graduation in March, I'm excited about the endless possibilities to diversify narratives and use my digital journalism skills to highlight community-relevant events.
I'm Jennifer Rice, and I'm eager to bring my unique blend of storytelling, hosting, content creation, and editorial skills to your team.
