N.C. A&T ALUM IS PUTTING HER STAMP ON THE MEDIA INDUSTRY

N.C. A&T alum Jennifer Rice continues to be nothing short of a success story in the field of media and journalism. Although Rice recently graduated with a degree in journalism and mass communication this past winter, she has already accomplished so much at just 22 years old.

Southeast EMMY® Chapter
Fall 2020

I am the recipient of the Evelyn Mims “Journalist of the Future” Scholarship awarded by the NATAS Southeast Foundation. This scholarship is awarded to students with an innovative commitment to excellence that will one day "earn Emmy®!"

The Regional Southeast EMMY® Chapter is one of 19 chapters throughout the United States identifying and celebrating television excellence at the local and regional level of The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. Our Chapter represents television professionals from all disciplines of the industry and from each of our markets, Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, South Carolina and Asheville, NC.

The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences sets the standards for excellence in the television broadcasting industry and holds the honor or presenting The Prime Time EMMY® Awards and the Daytime EMMY® Awards. 

A&T STUDENTS CREATE 106 & AGGIES TO SHOWCASE BLACK TALENT

For years, the JOMC department here at N.C. A&T has been news-oriented and didn’t have much of an entertainment platform for students to tune into. 

Three N.C. A&T students came up with the idea of  “106 & Aggies,” to give students a place to show off their arts and listen in on a relatable conversation about life issues young adults deal with on a daily basis.
