ABC 11 WTVR-TV
Reel
During my tenure as a United Negro College Fund Walt Disney Intern & Scholar at WTVD TV-ABC 11, I employed innovative newsgathering techniques to craft compelling news content across print, digital, and broadcast platforms. Collaborating with esteemed investigative reporter Diane Wilson and Race and Culture reporter Akilah Davis, I actively engaged in addressing viewer concerns and fostering an inclusive platform for the RDU community to share their narratives.
My responsibilities encompassed a range of tasks, including video logging, scriptwriting, and weekly package production. I covered a diverse array of topics, from the escalating prescription drug prices affecting Americans to the noteworthy 2021 Summer Olympic swim cap ban. Additionally, I contributed as a valued member of the "We Belong Together" team, dedicated to promoting meaningful discussions and nurturing a work environment characterized by diversity and inclusion.

Package

This sacred period involves fasting during daylight hours, coming together for communal prayers, and sharing meals as a united community. However, this year's observance of Ramadan is taking on a distinct character. While numerous mosques remain temporarily closed, they have adapted by offering live-streamed sermons, Quranic recitations, and virtual congregational prayers through popular video-conferencing platforms like Zoom, Facebook, and YouTube.
